The CCEURO had before it document CX/EURO 98/9, containing the Rules governing the appointment of the Coordinator, as amended by the 21st Session of the Commission, and laid down in the 10th Edition of the Procedural Manual (Rule II.4). The Committee was informed that Dr. Felipe Mittelbrunn-Garcia had served his first term and he was eligible under Rule II.4 (b) to hold the office of Coordinator for Europe for the next succeeding term.
70. The Delegation of France, supported by all delegations, proposed that Dr. Mittelbrunn-García be nominated for appointment as Coordinator for Europe by the 23rd Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission and until the end of the 24th Session of the Commission. Dr. Mittelbrunn-García accepted the nomination of the Committee.
71. The Committee expressed its warm appreciation to Dr. Mittelbrunn-García as well as to the Spanish Government for their continued support of the Committees work.
