The Web site of the Regional Wood Energy Development Programme contains a wealth of information on wood energy issues. More than 100 publications are currently available for downloading. The on-line wood energy database at this site contains data about the 16 member countries on items such as wood energy resources, wood energy consumption, woodfuel flows, biomass technologies and socio-economic issues. This database has recently been expanded with extensive data on emissions. An off-line version of the database can also be downloaded from this site.
To make all this information also available to people
without (proper) Internet access, a CD-ROM has been produced containing the same
information as the Web site. This second CD-ROM was released in November 2000
and those interested in obtaining this CD are invited to contact the RWEDP
office.

Take a look at the (French-language) newsletter Synergies of the CARE-Haiti Energy Project, which may be downloaded at: www.olade.org.ec/haiti/synergie/index.html. The latest edition includes an interesting article on fuel, money and CO2 savings for a range of improved cookers in use in Haiti. (Source: HEDON e-mail list.)
