The vessels itinerary was as follows:
Departure San Juan 20 MayDuring 6 days of work in Nicaraguan waters the vessel steamed abt. 1100 nm and 46 trawl stations were made. One day was spent working in the shallow Golfo de Fonseca. During 5 days of work in El Salvador waters the distance steamed was abt. 700 nm and 33 fishing stations were made.

The course tracks and the fishing stations for the whole area is shown in Figure 1. The previous survey indicated that the areas of greatest interest would be the inshore region and the part near the edge of the shelf and the slope itself down to abt 300 m of depth. The survey effort was accordingly concentrated in these zone with a more sparse coverage of the middle of the shelf. The shallow depth of the Golfo de Fonseca limited the coverage to the central parts.
The weather condition were favourable, and did not put any limitation upon the work. The prevaling wind was southeasterly force 1-3.
