BURKINA FASO:

Abundant rains in July, notably during the last dekad, benefited crop development. Widespread and above normal rains have been registered since late June. Rainfall became particularly abundant countrywide during the last dekad of July. Cumulative rainfall as of late July is generally equal to or above last year's level. Millet and sorghum crops are developing satisfactorily. Soil moisture reserves are adequate. Satellite imagery indicates that precipitation decreased significantly during the first dekad of August but remained widespread.

Pastures are regenerating well, notably in the north. Localised caterpillar and other pests attacks have been reported.
