Growing conditions were adequate in July. Widespread and well above normal rains were registered during the first two dekads of July. They decreased in late July in the north-east but remained widespread. Coarse grain crops are emerging/tillering. Preparation for rice transplanting is underway in swamp rice fields as desalinisation is almost completed following strong rains in July.
