There are numerous risks to the sustainability and stability of Indonesia’s farming system, food production system, supply chains, and ecosystems. The evaluation aims to answer two essential questions: whether FAO is doing what is needed and whether it is making a difference. This evaluation recommends that FAO support the green and blue (land and sea) preparedness and adaptation plans, as well as early warning systems. The evaluation further recommends that FAO ramp up its support for a national decision support system that adopts a food systems approach to provide policymakers with the best analytical evidence and data available to guide new public policies and regulations. Many of the conclusions and recommendations call for policy and regulatory reform. The evaluation recommends that FAO work with Indonesia to establish innovative data management systems, new analysis methods, and analytical tools on agriculture including fisheries and forestry.

Georgia has been a Member of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) since 1995. In 2004, FAO strengthened its presence there by making the FAO Subregional Representative for Central and Eastern Europe the FAO Representative in Georgia and establishing a fully-fledged representation in Tbilisi. FAO is supporting national development priorities to create and implement an institutional, legal and regulatory environment, as well as lending technical assistance on key projects at the Government’s request. It is working to strengthen Georgia’s institutional disaster-management capacity and helping to align Government policies with European structures and standards, so as to fuel economic growth. The purpose of the Georgia Country Programme Evaluation (CPE) is to provide feedback that will better orient FAO’s programme and boost the impact and resonance of the next Country Programming Framework (CPF). It seeks to contribute to learning at corporate, regional and country level by drawing lessons and making recommendations to steer FAO’s engagement there. It will also enrich FAO’s synthesis of findings and guidance for country-level support.

The Jordan country programme evaluation covered the period 2017–2021. The evaluation assessed FAO's strategic positioning, operational and organizational capacity, contributions, partnerships and normative values. It also identified key lessons learned and recommendations to inform the next Country Programming Framework. The evaluation found evidence of sustainable results in FAO Jordan: FAO’s programme in Jordan responded to beneficiaries’ needs considering global and country development and humanitarian priorities. FAO is working in accordance with its comparative advantage and is recognized as a trusted source of technical knowledge and advice. It has carried out actions in Jordan to i) influence decision-making, national stakeholders and partners; ii) support and formulate strategies and policies; and iii) build the national capacity. Recommendations were drawn up to enhance the quality of FAO’s programme design, support the formulation, uptake and implementation of policy development, strengthen capacity building efforts to be more sustainable, develop a partnership strategy to guide the collaboration with various partners, enhance the country office capacity and ensure an adequate institutional setup for gender and conflict sensitivity mainstreaming.
