Synopsis (short abstract) The report starts out with a presentation on some background information about the current situation of the wood products and forest resources, their production as well as their import and export. The second part of the report analyses the statistics related to these wooden products, the compilation, analysis as well as dissemination process. Some of the national institutions involved in the process are mentioned as well as the most important Namibian wood industries. The last part of the repor t evaluates the collection process and the methodology used and makes some suggestions for further improvement.

    Methods for the collection and analysis of wood product data in Uganda are discussed in this country report. The first part of the report identifies what wood products have been analysed (roundwood, poles, sawnwood, firewood, charcoal etc.) and the methodologies used to collect information. In addition, some attention is given to the most important institutions involved in the overall collection, analytical and dissemination process. The second part of the report evaluates the quality of the i nformation collected as well as the methodologies used during the collection process. The last part of the report suggests some measures in order to improve the overall national forestry statistics process.
