No results found.Since 2006, APFIC has adopted a strategic planning approach to improve the effectiveness and focus of its work in support of its members. The initial plan was developed in part as a response to reviews of the performance of regional fisheries bodies in general but also in recognition of the changing context within which APFIC operated. In 2003, a review of the role of APFIC as a Regional Consultative Forum was carried out1 which resulted in the recommendation for it to adopt its current approach. -

No results found.The host country will be the Philippines and preparations will be made in consultation with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of Agriculture, Government of Philippines. This will determine the venue and date of the 7th RCFM and the 35th Session of APFIC, which are tentatively set for March 2018 (note that this is still open for discussion). -

No results found.As part of the regular reporting to the APFIC members the Secretariat have carried out a review of the status and trends of aquaculture in the Asia Pacific region. The regional overview focuses on the performance of aquaculture in the APFIC region from 2012-2014, with available FAO fisheries statistic datasets as the main source of data; while looking at the status and trend of the region’s aquaculture in longer-term. The overview covers not only the overall regional status and trends of aquaculture, but also analyzes the performance of different commodity groups at the subregional level. The overview also attempted to identify major current and emerging issues affecting future sustainable growth of aquaculture industry in the region.
