No results found.La "Guía de identificación rápida de parientes silvestres y recursos fitogenético de plantas cultivadas de interés alimenticio", es un documento técnico destinado a facilitar la identificación rápida de parientes silvestres y recursos fitogenéticos, amenazados actualmente por la intensificación de prácticas agrícolas insostenibles y los efectos del cambio climático en tres municipios de Cuba, del proyecto "Introducción de nuevos métodos agrícolas para la conservación y el uso sostenible de la biodiversidad, incluyendo recursos fito y zoogenéticos, en paisajes productivos en áreas seleccionadas de Cuba" (COBIMAS). El reconocimiento de estas especies contribuirá a establecer estrategias de acción para la conservación integral, manejo sostenible y monitoreo de la diversidad biológica y la agrobiodiversidad y la recuperación de escenarios agrícolas, a través del enfoque “Ahorrar para crecer”, promovidos por la FAO. -

La pérdida de hábitat repercute de manera directa y negativa en la diversidad de estos valiosos recursos. L as presentes directrices, concebidas como material de referencia para la elaboración de un Plan nacional para la conservación y el uso sostenible de parientes silvestres de cultivos y plantas silvestres comestibles, contribuirán a frenar esta continua pérdida de diversidad. Las directrices son, por consiguiente, un instrumento útil para profesionales del desarrollo, investigadores, estudiantes y responsables de la formulación de políticas que trabajan en la conservación y el uso sostenible de es tos valiosos recursos.

2005The objective of the Voluntary Guidelines is to provide practical guidance to States in their implementation of the progressive realization of the right to adequate food in the context of national food security, in order to achieve the goals of the World Food Summit Plan of Action. They provide an additional instrument to combat hunger and poverty and to accelerate attainment of the Millennium Development Goals. The Voluntary Guid elines represent the first attempt by governments to interpret an economic, social and cultural right and to recommend actions to be undertaken for its realization. Moreover, they represent a step towards integrating human rights into the work of agencies dealing with food and agriculture.
