Unasylva - Started in 1947, this quarterly publication is intended to cover a range of interests as wide as that of the Division whose work it mirrors.
Signed articles express the opinions of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the Organization.
Cover: In eastern Algeria the largest development project ever approved by the United Nations/FAO World Food Program involves the provision of wheat, vegetable oil, dried skim milk and sugar to workers engaged in reforestation and conservation operations executed by an Algerian organization called Chanters populaires de reboisement. The picture shows the Organization's technical training center built with Swiss aid on the slopes of Mount Chelia. It is set in a forest of pines and cedars in that part of the Aurès massif devastated during the war of independence.
