What’s new in version 2.00?

Version 2.00 is, to the user, identical in all respects to previous versions. The changes made have merely improved the way in which the yield models are treated.

Acknowledgements

Many people have contributed to the development of PC-based FIAP and it is not possible to mention everyone. First thanks should go to Roger Oakes, whose code for MICRO-FIAP served the Commission so well for so long, and who contributed so much to the development of the new FIAP. Instrumental in the development process was Roy Lorrain-Smith, who first solved the problems of bringing the calculations onto a spreadsheet format. Thanks must be given to Alastair Johnson and Charles Stewart Roper for their tireless efforts in the testing and development of the package leading to the release of version 1.91. The comments of users of earlier versions of the package, especially those who pointed out corrections that needed to be made have been invaluable. Finally, Greig Hunter and Brian Dunbar of Cray Systems must be thanked for their positive attitude to writing the package.

Policy Branch \ Economics, Forestry Commission. August 1997.

Network and Stand Alone Versions

The network and stand alone versions behave identically, except for the default drive for loading and saving. This is C: with the stand alone version and V: with the network version. It should be noted that the two different versions will not function in each others’ environment. For this reason, they are clearly marked in the Start-Up scree and in the About Fiap option in the Help menu.
