Survey objectives.
The objectives of the third survey were to survey the east coast of Trinidad and Tobago, as during the first survey, in order to study possible seasonal changes in abundance and distribution of small pelagic fish. In addition, the last two days of the survey was spent in the joint fishing zone and will be a amendment to the work carried out there during the second survey. The detailed objectives for this area were: Trawl and acoustic survey with trawl stations on both sides, fishing both day and night preferably where shrimpers operate 15-20 trawl hauls. When surveying the east coast a programme of collection of water samples from various parts of the shelf were included. Later, analysis of traces of hydrocarbons and heavy metals from these samples will be performed.
