The vessel sailed from karachi, Pakistan in the evening of 21 September 1983, and the survey started at the Pakistan border at 0100 hours on 23 September. A zig-zag survey track was laid over the coastal banks between the 10-20 m and 500 m isobaths. Five course tracks were sailed to the median line of the Gulf of Oman. The area was investigated up to Ras al Shir, and the cruise was concluded at 0200 hours on 1 October 1983. The vessel berthed at Dubai on 1 October at 16 hours.
The weather conditions were favourable throughout the cruise, air temperatures between 28° and 35°C.

A complete set of data collected during the survey and a preliminary cruise report was delivered to the Iranian scientists by the end of the cruise.
