The major topics discussed were an overview on the importance of co-management as a tool for sustainable fisheries management and development in Zambia and Zimbabwe; fishers views on the importance of the kapenta fishery and the artisanal fishery; status of fisheries on the Zambia and Zimbabwe side of Lake Kariba; and an overview on the management and development of the fisheries of Lake Kariba. The summary of the main recommendations and decisions is shown in Appendix D. |
