The FAO is implementing a project entitled “Sustainable Cropland and forest management in priority agro-ecosystems of Myanmar (SLM-GEF)” in coordination with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MoNREC) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MoALI) with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project promotes climate smart agriculture (CSA) policies and practices at different levels in Myanmar. In the field, the project is active in five pilot Townships from three different agro-ecological zones implementing various relevant CSA initiatives mainly using Farmer Field Schools (FFS) models. In order to implement FFS effectively, the project has developed FFS Curricula for each of the above mentioned three agro-ecological zones with support from AVSI Foundation as a Service Provider. Similarly, the project has developed a FFS Handbook for each agro-ecological zone both in Myanmar and English version with support from AVSI Foundation as a Service Provider. This handbook is intended to help the Extension Workers, FFS Facilitators and FFS Committee/farmers to implement FFS on CSA techniques and practices in different agro-ecological zones and scaling up the learnings in similar areas of Myanmar. -

ကုလသမဂ္ဂစားနပ်ရိက္ခာနှင့်စိုက်ပျိုးရေးအဖွဲ့သည် သယံဇာတနှင့်သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ထိန်းသိမ်း ရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာန၊ စိုက်ပျိုးရေး၊ မွေးမြူရေးနှင့် ဆည်မြောင်းဝန်ကြီးဌာနတို့နှင့် ပူးပေါင်းကာ “မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ၏ မတူကွဲပြားသည့်စိုက်ပျိုးရေးဂေဟစနစ်များရှိဦးစားပေးဒေသများတွင်ရေရှည်တည်တံ့သော စိုက်ပျိုးမြေနှင့် သစ်တောများစီမံခန့်ခွဲမှုစီမံကိန်းကို (Global Environmental Facility) ရန်ပုံငွေ အထောက်အပံ့ဖြင့် အကောင်အထည် ဖော်ဆောင်ရွက်လျက်ရှိပါသည်။ စီမံကိန်းသည်စိုက်ပျိုးရေးဦးစီးဌာန(DoA)၊စိုက်ပျိုးရေးသုတေသနဦးစီးဌာန(DAR) ၊ စိုက်ပျိုးရေးသိပ္ပံ များ (SAI)၊ နှင့် ရေဆင်းစိုက်ပျိုးရေးတက္ကသိုလ် (YAU) တို့တွင် သင်ကြားပို့ချလျက်ရှိသောသင်တန်း များတွင် CSA/SLM (Climate Smart Agriculture/Sustainable Land Management) ကိုထည့်သွင်း၍ပို့ချနိုင်ရန်အတွက် CSA/SLM သင်တန်းအစီအစဉ်တစ်ခုရေးဆွဲရန်ရည်ရွယ်ပါသည်။ စိမံကိန်းသည် DoA, DAR, SAI, YAU တို့နှင့်ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်ကာ ၎င်းတို့ဆောင်ရွက် လျက်ရှိသောသုတေသနလုပ်ငန်းများ၊ သင်တန်းနှင့်ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရေး အစီအစဉ်များတွင်CSA ကို ပေါင်းစပ်ထည့်သွင်းသွားမည်ဖြစ်သည်။ သင်တန်းအစီအစဉ်သည် သက်ဆိုင်ရာအဖွဲ့အစည်း၏ သဘော သဘာဝနှင့် လိုအပ်ချက်အလိုက် ကွဲပြားခြားနားမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး လက်ရှိသုံးစွဲလျက်ရှိသော သင်ရိုးများထဲသို့ CSA အကြောင်းအရာများပေါင်းစည်းလျက် မွမ်းမံ/ပြုပြင်ရန် ကြိုးစားအားထုတ်ထားသည်။ ဥပမာ အားဖြင့် (၁) YAU တွင် ပို့ချလျက်ရှိသော ဘွဲ့ကြို၊ဘွဲ့လွန် သင်တန်းများတွင် CSAအစိတ်အပိုင်းကို ပေါင်းစပ် သင်ကြားခြင်း၊ (၂) စိုက်ပျိုးရေး သိပ္ပံ များတွင် ပို့ချလျက်ရှိသော ဒီပလိုမာ သင်တန်းများတွင် CSA အစိတ်အပိုင်းကိုပေါင်းစပ်သင်ကြားခြင်း၊ (၃)ဗဟိုစိုက်ပျိုးရေးသုတေသနနှင့် လေ့ကျင့်ပညာပေး ဌာန(CARTC)မှ တစ်လကြာပို့ချသည့်သင်တန်း(သို့)မွမ်းမံသင်တန်း များတွင်အခြားဘာသာရပ်များနှင့် ပူးတွဲလျက်သင်ကြားခြင်းနှင့် (၄)DoA၊DARနှင့်YAUတို့မှ အကြီးတန်း ပညာပေးဝန်ထမ်းများအတွက် တစ်ပတ်ကြာ ဆရာဖြစ်သင်တန်းများတွင် ထည့်သွင်း သင်ကြားရန် အတွက် ရည်ရွယ်ပါ သည်။ ဤCSAလက်စွဲစာအုပ်သည် သုတေသီများ၊ ပညာပေးဝန်ထမ်းများ၊ ဆရာများနှင့်တောင်သူ လယ်သမားများအား ရာသီဥတုပြောင်း လဲမှုကြောင့်မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်ကြုံတွေ့ရသော အခက်အခဲပြဿ နာများ ကိုပိုမိုနားလည် သဘောပေါက် လာနိုင်စေပြီး ရာသီဥတုနှင့် သဟဇာတဖြစ်သော စိုက်ပျိုးရေးကို ပိုမိုတိုးမြှင့်လုပ်ဆောင်လာနိုင်စေရန် အထောက်အကူပြုမည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ပါသည်။ -

The FAO is implementing a project entitled “Sustainable cropland and forest management in priority agro-ecosystems of Myanmar (SLM-GEF)” in coordination with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MoNREC) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MoALI) with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project promotes climate smart agriculture (CSA) policies and practices at different levels in Myanmar. One of the key activities of the project is to establish a national CSA/SLM training program mainstreaming CSA/SLM in the agriculture related academic courses and trainings conducted by Yezin Agricultural University (YAU), State Agricultural Institutes (SAI), Department of Agriculture (DoA) and Department of Agriculture Research (DAR). In order to integrate CSA within the research, extension, training and development programs, the project has made efforts to revise/develop the curricula integrating CSA topics for example: i) CSA component integrated into the Masters and Bachelor level courses on Agriculture at YAU; ii) CSA component integrated into the Diploma in Agriculture course at SAIs; iii) one month training on CSA together with other subjects for the in-service or refresher course at Central Agriculture Research and Training Centre (CARTC) under DoA and iv) one week intensive Training of Trainers (ToT) programme aiming for the researchers, extension agents and teachers of DoA, DAR and YAU. This document will serve as the main reference document for professors/lectureres/teachers from the different SAIs to include the related topics on CSA into their courses for teaching the students.
