    This handout summarizes the information in the Step-by-step guide to integrating a gender transformative approach throughout the project cycle ("Step-by-Step Guide"). It outlines the five phases of the project cycle, as well as the steps to be taken during each phase. It also includes the full checklist of actions to be taken by project and programme staff when integratingthe gender transformative approach in every phase of the project cycle. The Step-by-Step Guide, which this handout refers to, provides detailed guidance to development professionals to integrate the gender transformative approach in project interventions that focus on food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture, in view of advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.Both the Step-by-Step Guide and this handout were developed by FAO, IFAD and WFP in the context of the Joint Programme on Gender Transformative Approaches for Food Security and Nutrition (JP GTA).
