    The SWSR is a reference document on the status of global soil resources that provides regional assessments of soil change.     Le présent document élabore la Classification statistique internationale type des engins de pêche (CSITEP) révisée, telle qu’approuvée et adoptée en vue de sa mise en œuvre par le Groupe de travail chargé de coordonner les statistiques de pêche (CWP) de la FAO à l’occasion de sa vingt-cinquième session en février 2016 à Rome, en Italie. La classification s’applique aux pêches commerciales, de subsistance et récréatives en mer et en eau douce. Le document fournit des définitions et des illustrations de la configuration et du mode de fonctionnement des engins de pêche typiques. Son principal objectif est d’aider les Membres de la FAO, les organismes régionaux de pêche, ainsi que toutes les personnes qui travaillent sur les statistiques et la gestion des pêches, à attribuer et à déclarer correctement les captures de pêche effectuées par les différents types d’engins. Le document contribue également à la prévention, à la dissuasion et à l’élimination de la pêche illicite, non déclarée et non réglementée (INDNR) en fournissant au personnel de suivi, de contrôle et de surveillance des informations permettant d’identifier le type d’engin de pêche utilisé par rapport aux permis et aux autorisations des opérations de pêche. Enfin, le document fournit également un contexte et des références pour répondre à un certain nombre de problèmes contemporains en matière de conservation liés aux principaux types d’engins de pêche; il peut donc être utilisé comme texte de référence pour les étudiants et les chercheurs dans les domaines des pêches et de la conservation marine.
