The AI4Biochar project aims to develop a farm-detailed geodatabase using AI to assess agricultural residue availability across space and time for biochar production in Viet Nam. The project uses AI methods to delineate farm boundaries from satellite imagery to help optimize biochar processing unit locations. Targeting coffee, rice and coconut systems in selected regions (Dac Lac, Tien Giang, Hai Duong), it will assess residue availability or accessibility and integrate sustainability indicators to support decision-making around biochar investments. Key partners include Viet Nam's Ministry of Agriculture, University of Twente and FAO.

    No results found.

The DIGICHILD is a GIS-based index for estimating child labor risks in agrifood systems, piloting in Uganda and Honduras through FAO's Hand-in-Hand Geospatial Platform. The Child Labour Risk Estimation Index combines geographical information to generate location-based risk scores, providing more cost-effective, time-efficient data with higher granularity and forecasting capacity. The project involves consultations with key stakeholders to develop the methodology and establish a community of practice on digital child labor monitoring.
