    A Joint Meeting of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Panel of experts on Pesticide Residues in Food and the Environment and the World Health Organization (WHO) Core assessment Group on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) was held in Rome, Italy, from 12 to 22 September 2019. The FAO Panel Members met in preparatory sessions from 8 to 12 September.

    "The Green Climate (GCF) Readiness and Preparatory Programme of the Islamic Republic of Iran" brochure intends to present the activities of one of the FAO's ongoing projects with the same name in the Islamic Republic of Iran. It will be distributed among the stakeholders and general public as the main audience of this project. It provides them with necessary information on FAO’s mandate and activities in terms of climate change, current situation of Iran in this regard and how the Organization assissts the country to plan, access to finance, implement and report on climate change adaptation and mitigation measures.

    La Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO) ha desarrollado una herramienta ASIS a nivel de país para ayudar a los países a monitorear la sequía agrícola y administrar sus riesgos, utilizando datos satelitales para detectar tierras cultivadas que podrían verse afectadas por la sequía. La herramienta utiliza datos satelitales para detectar áreas agrícolas (tierras de cultivo) en las que los cultivos pueden verse afectados por la sequía. La versión específica de cada país de la Herramienta se basa en los principios metodológicos generales del Sistema mundial de índice de estrés agrícola (ASIS), que se utiliza en la sede de la FAO para apoyar el Sistema mundial de información y alerta temprana sobre alimentos y agricultura (SMIA).
