No results found.This document presents the final report of the Validation Workshop on the Development of the Aquaculture Co-management System for Sustainable Aquaculture, which was held in Seogwipo, Republic of Korea from 26 to 27 November 2024, in hybrid format. The workshop aimed to showcase and disseminate key knowledge products developed as part of the ongoing project “Development of the aquaculture co-management system for sustainable aquaculture”. It also facilitated the exchange of knowledge and experiences among stakeholders involved in aquaculture co-management initiatives across different regions, identified challenges and opportunities in aquaculture co-management, and raised awareness of its importance and benefits for sustainable aquaculture development. Additionally, the workshop sought constructive feedback from participants on existing knowledge products and fostered collaboration to outline actionable steps and initiatives for advancing aquaculture co-management. These efforts aimed to address identified challenges and opportunities, ultimately paving the way for sustainable aquaculture development. -

This series of technical webinars is organized to leverage the knowledge and expertise of a network of researchers, development practitioners and decision-makers. The webinars aim at strengthening knowledge sharing and stimulating debate around themes relevant to food systems transformation in the Mediterranean, peer exchange about recent research and study findings, as well as showcasing successful and inspiring actions to promote the operationalization of food systems approaches. This webinar will bring together stakeholders from across the Mediterranean to present concrete experiences and successful cases from the consumer perspective, including on transparent information and consumer education and innovative pathways for sustainable public procurement. Consumers should be at the center of all elements of the food system, from food research to food production and procurement, as well as food environments and marketing. Bringing together representatives from consumers and their organizations, experts from research centres, international organizations and educational networks, the webinar will provide a forum for exchange on the role of consumers in a more sustainable food system agenda in the Mediterranean. The webinar will aim to address a key question: what is the role of consumers in shaping more sustainable food systems and what are the implications for rethinking Mediterranean diets? -

No results found.The Guideline aims to raise awareness on development challenges related to sand and dust storm (SDS) risk, vulnerability, and exposure that are often not fully appreciated or considered by policy makers. In addition to greater political attention, it underscrores the need for assessments and actionable data to address SDS hazards more effectively. The guideline is informed by scientific, technical, and evidence-based knowledge resources that have been produced by the UNCCD, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and members of the United Nations Coalition on Combatting Sand and Dust Storms as well as other partners and experts from around the world. The Guideline is voluntary and can be used by regonal, national, and sub-national authorities and actors responsible for designing and implementing SDS-related initiatives in key policy areas (e.g., agriculture, human health, infrastructure). It builds upon the UNCCD Policy Advocacy Framework for Sand and Dust storms which outlines the principles and enabling environment to prevent and reduce SDS sources and their socioeconomic impacts while improving productivity and resilience.
