One new ASFA Partner was welcomed into the ASFA network: Marine Institute (MI), Ireland, bringing the total number of ASFA Partners to 64. The ASFA Board approved 6 new ASFA Trust Fund proposals for a total of approximately US$ 125 000. ProQuest deposited US$249 826.62 in royalties for 2008. -

No results found.The Annual Meeting of the Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA) Advisory Board was hosted by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), located in Oostende, Belgium, during 4 to 8 September 2006. The Meeting was attended by 38 participants from 25 National ASFA Partners, 3 UN Partners, 1 International ASFA Partner, the ASFA Publishing Partner, and 3 observers. The Agenda is in Annex-1. The Documents presented at the Meeting and the abbreviations used in the Report are listed in Annex-1a an d Annex-1c, respectively. The names and addresses of the participants are listed in Annex-1b. Mr Haspeslagh (VLIZ) welcomed the participants to VLIZ and introduced Mr Mees, the Director of VLIZ, who officially opened the meeting. -

No results found.With financial assistance from Denmark and in collaboration with the Republic of Benin, the Fisheries Department of FAO is implementing in West Africa a programme of small scale fisheries development, commonly called the IDAF Project. This programme is based upon an integrated approach involving production, processing and marketing of fish, and related activities; it also involves an active participation of the target fishing communities.This report is a working paper and the conclusions and recommendations are those considered appropriate at the time of preparation. The working papers have not necessarily been cleared for publication by the government(s) concerned nor by FAO. They may be modified in the light of further knowledge gained at subsequent stages of the Project and issued later in other series.
