It was attended by 47 Members of FAO and by observers from 7 intergovernmental and 3 international non-governmental organizations. Several working documents were presented by the Secretariat for information, discussion and decision by the Sub-Committee. A consultative seminar on the Comm ittee for Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture for Africa (CIFAA) review was also held after the plenary session of the Sub-Committee from 26 to 27 March and the outcome was reported to the plenary. A Special Event on Genetic Resources and Technologies in Aquaculture Development was also held during the session. This document contains the report of the session adopted by the Sub-Committee.

По сердечному приглашению Правительства Южно-Африканской Республики шестое заседание Подкомитета по аквакультуре Комитета по рыболовству (COFI) состоялось в Кейптауне (ЮАР) в период с 26 по 30 марта 2012 года. На мероприятии присутствовали 47 членов ФАО и наблюдатели из 7 межправительственных и 3 международных неправительственных организаций. Секретариат представил Подкомитету несколько рабочих документов для рассмотрения, обсуждения и принятия решений. 26-27 марта после пленарных заседаний т акже проходил консультативный семинар по обзору работы Комитета по внутреннему рыболовству и аквакультуре в Африканском регионе (CIFAA). О результатах этого семинара было доложено на пленарном заседании. Во время заседаний также было проведено специальное мероприятие по развитию генетических ресурсов и технологий в аквакультуре. Настоящий документ содержит отчет о заседаниях, одобренный Подкомитетом. -
