dc.description.abstract The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) is the only standard setting organization for plant health. The adoption of International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs) is essential for countries to avoid plant pests and diseases are introduced into new territories, causing serious damages to entire ecosystems. The IPPC standards are thus recognized as the basis for phytosanitary measures applied in international trade.
