No results found.La Seconde session du Comité technique sur les critères d’allocation (TCAC02) s’est tenue à Muscat (Oman) du 18 au 20 février 2013, sous la présidence de M. Mauree Daroomalingum. Un total de 82 personnes ont participé à la session, dont 69 délégués de 23 États membres et 1 délégué d’une partie coopérante non contractante, ainsi que 9 délégués de 5 organisations observatrices et 3 experts invités. Discussion générale et plan de travail Paragraphe 38. Le CTCA A RECONNU que le mandat qu’il a reçu d e la Résolution 12/13 couvre l’examen de mesures de gestion altertives. Cependant, il a indiqué qu’il n’était pas en position de discuter en détail des mesures altertives durant la présente réunion et A DONC DEMANDÉ que la Commission charge le Comité scientifique d’examiner ces mesures de gestion altertives en conjonction avec des objectifs de gestion clairs. La Commission devrait s’assurer qu’elle spécifie les niveaux de réduction ou les objectifs de gestion à long terme qui doivent être attein ts par le biais de ces mesures altertives car cela guidera et facilitera l’alyse du CS. La réunion CTCA02 a émis les recommandations ci-dessous. Avis juridique Paragraphe 35. Le CTCA A RECONNU qu’il est nécessaire qu’un expert juridique soit présent lors de la prochaine réunion du CTCA afin de conseiller le CTCA. Partant, le CTCA A RECOMMANDÉ que la Commission alloue les fonds nécessaires, soit pour contracter un expert juridique indépendant soit pour que le bureau juridique de la FAO mandate un expert compétent. Fonds de participation aux réunion Paragraphe 42 Le CTCA A RELEVÉ que la participation des délégués des CPC en développement au CTCA en 2013 (24 délégués de 15 membres et 1 délégué d’une partie coopérante non-contractante) a été largement permise par le FPR de la CTOI, adopté par la Commission en 2010 (Résolution 10/05 Sur la mise en place d’un Fonds de participation aux réunions scientifiques pour les Membres et Parties coopérantes non-contractantes en développement) et A REC OMMANDÉ que la Commission renouvelle ce fonds, à l’avenir. Revue de la proposition et adoption du rapport de la Seconde session du Comité technique sur les critères d’allocation Paragraphe 43 Le CTCA RECOMMANDE que la Commission examine l’ensemble consolidé des recommandations découlant du CTCA02, fourni en Annexe XIV.

Leveraging agricultural automation for transforming agrifood systems
2022Automation has been shaping world agriculture since the early twentieth century. Motorized mechanization has brought significant benefits in terms of improved productivity, reduced drudgery and more efficient allocation of labour, but also some negative environmental impacts. More recently, a new generation of digital agricultural automation technologies has appeared, with the potential to further enhance productivity, as well as resilience, while also addressing the environmental sustainability challenges driven by past mechanization.The State of Food and Agriculture 2022 looks into the drivers of agricultural automation, including the more recent digital technologies. Based on 27 case studies, the report analyses the business case for adoption of digital automation technologies in different agricultural production systems across the world. It identifies several barriers preventing inclusive adoption of these technologies, particularly by small-scale producers. Key barriers are low digital literacy and lack of an enabling infrastructure, such as connectivity and access to electricity, in addition to financial constraints. Based on the analysis, the publication suggests policies to ensure that disadvantaged groups in developing regions can benefit from agricultural automation and that automation contributes to sustainable and resilient agrifood systems. -
