The Fourth Meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFish) was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 28 to 30 November 2017. The meeting was attended by five CACFish Member States (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkey) and four Observers (Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan). The TAC discussed scientific recommendations on the following issues of relevance to CACFish: 1) activities and outputs of regional fisheries projects; 2) implementation of the FAO Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication in the region; 3) inventory and certifying of water bodies in Kyrgyzstan. The TAC also reviewed and revised the second five-year regional work programme (RWP2) of CACFish for 2015-2020 and developed activities for the intersessional period of 2018-2019 for discussion and approval by the Sixth Session of CACFish to be held in Turkey in October 2018. -

No results found.The Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFish) held its seventh session physically in Istanbul, Turkey from 11 to 13 October 2021. Four Member States attended the CACFish session: Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkey. Seven invited States were present, namely: Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The EUROFISH International Organization and the Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea Against Pollution participated in the Session as intergovernmental organizations with observer status. The Commission was briefed on the main decisions and recommendations arising from the latest sessions of the FAO Governing Bodies, namely the Regional Conference for Europe and the Committee on Fisheries (COFI) as well as CACFish. Discussions took place about strategic approaches to increase the number of CACFish Members and further strengthen cooperation with non-CACFish Member States. The Commission decided to abolish the Five-year Regional Work Programme as suggested by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The Commission reviewed the key outcomes and main recommendations of the Fifth Meeting of TAC. Региональная комиссия по рыбному хозяйству и аквакультуре в Центральной Азии и на Кавказе (CACFish) провела свое седьмое заседание в очном формате в Стамбуле, Турция, с 11 по 13 октября 2021. В сессии приняли участие четыре страны-члена CACFish: Азербайджан, Кыргызстан, Таджикистан и Турция. Присутствовали также представители из семи приглашённых стран: Грузии, Казахстана, Республики Молдовы, Монголии, Российской Федерации, Украины и Узбекистана. В качестве межправительственных организаций со статусом наблюдателя в сессии приняли участие Международная организация ЕВРОФИШ (EUROFISH) и Комиссия по защите Черного моря от загрязнения. Комиссия была проинформирована об основных решениях и рекомендациях последних сессий руководящих органов ФАО, а именно Региональной конференции для Европы и Комитета по рыбному хозяйству (КРХ), а также CACFish. Состоялись обсуждения стратегических подходов к увеличению числа членов CACFish и дальнейшему укреплению сотрудничества со странами, не входящими в CACFish. Комиссия решила отменить Пятилетнюю региональную рабочую программу, как это было предложено Техническим консультативным комитетом (ТКК). Комиссия рассмотрела ключевые результаты и основные рекомендации пятого совещания ТКК. -

No results found.This document is the final report of the Thirty-fifth Session of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) convened in Cebu, the Philippines from 11 to 13 May 2018. The event was hosted by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of Agriculture, the Philippines. It was attended by 14 APFIC member countries, two non-APFIC FAO members and ten partner organizations. The Commission reviewed the intersessional programme activities of APFIC and endorsed the report of the meeting of the Seventy-sixth APFIC Executive Committee. The Commission endorsed the recommendations of the Seventh Regional Consultative Forum Meeting in full and recommended that these should inform the future biennial work plan of APFIC. The Commission endorsed the recommendations of the APFIC ‘Regional Consultation to Promote Responsible Production and Use of Feed and Feed Ingredients for Sustainable Growth of Aquaculture in Asia-Pacific’, convened from 7 to 9 March 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand as well as the recommended strategies stemming from the APFIC ‘Regional Consultation on Building Climate Resilient Fisheries and Aquaculture in the Asia-Pacific Region’, held from 14 to 16 November 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Commission welcomed FAO’s expanded ‘Regional Initiative on Blue Growth in Asia-Pacific’ and endorsed the proposed programmatic framework and implementation plan for 2018 to 2019. Several members that were not included as the initiative’s focus countries expressed interest to participate in the implementation of the initiative from 2018 to 2019. The Commission confirmed that illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing remains a major threat to sustainable fisheries and welcomed the continued efforts of FAO and other international and regional organizations to support the members in combating IUU fishing in both inland and marine fisheries. The Commission recognized the contributions of Official Development Assistance (ODA) and of the regional and country Global Environment Facility (GEF) projects with which they have engaged and noted that the outputs of these programmes have relevance to fishery management and capacity in the region. Many member countries expressed interest in becoming more involved in these and future initiatives. The Commission welcomed the proposed 2018-2023 APFIC strategic plan and endorsed the 2018-2019 biennial work plan with a number of amendments. The Commission elected new officers and agreed that the Thirty-seventh Session of APFIC will be convened in Thailand in 2020.
