El proyecto “Implementación del Enfoque de Conectividades Socioecosistémicas para la Conservación y Uso Sostenible de la Biodiversidad de la Región Caribe de Colombia”, fue implementado y ejecutado por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO). Los resultados de la evaluación resaltan la relevancia actual del proyecto para reducir la degradación y fragmentación de los ecosistemas estratégicos del Caribe colombiano y aumentar y mejorar la provisión de bienes y servicios de la producción agropecuaria y forestal. Se encontró también una alta efectividad del proyecto en la obtención de los resultados esperados, superando en algunos casos, las metas establecidas. Asimismo, los procesos y mecanismos implementados por el proyecto para el involucramiento de los actores relevantes generaron una apropiación muy alta del proyecto. Debido a los éxitos alcanzados, la evaluación identificó buenas prácticas y lecciones aprendidas que podrán ser de utilidad para el diseño de proyectos similares. Entre las principales áreas de mejora que se identificaron, se encuentra mejorar el diseño de metas relacionadas con la incidencia en instrumentos de política y la determinación del cofinanciamiento por los socios del proyecto; la institucionalización de la Estrategia Regional de Conectividades Socioecosistémicas para asegurar su replicabilidad y la revisión de la Herramienta de seguimiento de la efectividad en el manejo del Fondo para el Medio Ambiente Mundial (FMAM). -

No results found.The Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA) was established at COP23 to address six topics in the agricultural sector's role in climate change. KJWA has contributed to sharing scientific and technical knowledge, but limitations remain in translating outcomes into concrete climate actions. The new four-year joint work on the implementation of climate action on agriculture and food security, which prioritizes ending hunger and considers national circumstances, includes the creation of an online portal for sharing information. The four-year agenda is shaped and broadened through the submission of views by parties, observers, and civil society and will be considered by SBSTA and SBI in June 2023. -

The 2023 edition of the Regional Overview of Food Security and Nutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean presents an update of the data and trends in food security and nutrition in recent years. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis and the conflict in Ukraine, as well as the economic slowdown, rising food inflation and income inequality have had an impact on regional figures. The most recent data shows that, between 2021 and 2022, progress was made in reducing hunger and food insecurity in Latin America and the Caribbean. However, the progress achieved is far from the targets established to meet SDG 2 of ending hunger. In addition, one in five people in the region cannot access a healthy diet and malnutrition in all its forms, including child stunting, micronutrient deficiencies and obesity continue to be a major challenge.
