    Au Tchad, plus de la moitié de la population se situe en-dessous du seuil de pauvreté et 44 pour cent de la population souffre d’insécurité alimentaire. Afin de protéger ses populations vulnérables et à faible résilience, le Gouvernement se devait de disposer d’un dispositif performant de prévention et de gestion des crises alimentaires et de nouveaux instruments de réponse. L’objectif général du projet était de doter le pays d’une nouvelle structure d’information opérationnelle et durable qui puisse centraliser toutes les données relatives à la Sécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle (SAN), coordonner les Services pourvoyeurs d’information (SPI) et proposer au Comité d’action pour la sécurité alimentaire et la gestion des crises (CASAGC) des actions issues du traitement des informations collectées.

    Le Tchad est confronté à une crise humanitaire sans précédent qui touche plus d’un tiers de sa population, et ce, malgré des investissements conséquents et exponentiels dans les interventions humanitaires. Les conflits, la raréfaction des ressources naturelles, les effets du changement climatique aggravés par l’instabilité régionale et les défis socio-économiques des pays voisins poussent des millions de personnes à fuir leurs foyers vers le Tchad. Face à cette situation, l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO) a développé un Plan d’urgence et de résilience pour la période 2025-2028 qui vise à définir les modalités concrètes de mise en œuvre du Cadre de programmation pays de la FAO au Tchad. L’objectif est de répondre aux besoins urgents des populations tout en renforçant leur résilience afin d’assurer la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition de tous.
