    Fisheries Statistics Saudi Arabia (2016–2021) provides technical insight and evidence-based information on fisheries and aquaculture sector management in Saudi Arabia. It serves a wide audience from the Government of Saudi Arabia, stakeholders, managers, technical experts to fisherfolks and consumers to demonstrate and enhance the vital role and contributions of fisheries and aquaculture towards achieving better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life for all, leaving no one behind. I trust this report steadfast continuous support from all stakeholders and beneficiaries to stay united and get prepared to face the upcoming challenges. Through a joint effort between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), General Fisheries Resources Directorate, Fisheries branches and FAO Saudi Arabia, data from 2016 to 2021 were collected related to the number of fisherfolks’ visits to the landing sites, information on the catch species, weight by gears, locations and dates. Data provided concludes the analysis of the number of capture per species, per gear, per month and per location for a duration of six years from 2016 to 2021. Improved fisheries management enables Saudi Arabia to provide prudent monitoring data with the strong support of science-based, context-specific, based on inclusive, transparent and multidisciplinary policies, and resulting in plans and actions developed in equitable ways. Both biological and social science parameters draw on local knowledge establishes effective fisheries management and develop a sustainable fisheries sector in Saudi Arabia.
