    The Asia and Pacific Commission on Agricultural Statistics (APCAS) is a statutory body of FAO. APCAS brings together senior statistics officials from FAO member countries of the Asia and Pacific region, who are responsible for the development of agricultural statistics in their respective countries. The APCAS report notes the details of the Commission meeting. Twenty technical documents, including an update on the situation of agricultural statistics and priority areas for FAO interventions in the region, were discussed. The report also highlights the key recommendations made by the Commission

    An account of the meeting of the 15 member nations of the Commission held in Bali, Indonesia from 26–29 September 2005, the document gives an account of APHCA's work from October 2004 to September 2005, details of ongoing and future activities including classical swine fever control in Asia, food and feed safety, diagnosis and surveillance of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), training in WTO's SPS Agreement and subjects related to veterinary public health, and strategic priorities for acti on on animal genetic resources. In addition, a special session was devoted to avian influenza. Presentations on the situation in Asia, strategies for its control, surveillance and diagnosis, among others, are provided in the report.

    At the kind invitation of the Government of Mongolia, the 29th session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC) was held in virtual format from 22 to 25 February 2022. Under the main theme "Forests and green recovery in Asia and the Pacific”, the Commission discussed forest solutions for post-COVID-19 challenges in Asia-Pacific, and also assessed technical and policy issues of relevance to forestry in the region, advanced innovations for regional and sub-regional cooperation in addressing forestry problems. A total of nine agenda items were considered by the Commission, and the final report was adopted on 25 February.
