No results found.Annual changes in global and regional consumer price indices (CPI) measure inflation rates of food and general consumer prices for a group of countries at different geographical scales: subregional (e.g. Middle Africa), regional (e.g. Africa) and global (all countries). The general CPI covers 204 countries, and the food CPI covers 200 countries worldwide. 22.1 percent of the observations for the food CPI and 9.2 percent for the general CPI are estimated. Country and regional consumer price indices are updated in FAOSTAT quarterly. This brief analyses the March 2023 update. -

An overview of FAO’s Damage and Loss Assessment methodology and using it to report on adaptation in the agriculture sectors under the ETF
2021The FAO’s Damage and Loss (D&L) assessment methodology makes it possible to evaluate the impact of disasters on the agriculture sectors. It is a useful tool for developing evidence-based policies for reducing risk and building resilience in these sectors. It also helps countries report on climate change (for example on article 7 of the ETF); and monitor the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) indicator C2 on direct agricultural loss from disasters. Finally, it provides baseline data for monitoring global targets on resilience. -

No results found.This flyer is one output from a two-year Technical Coorperation Programme project, on strengthening the national capacities of Pacific Island Countries (PICs) to monitor SDG Target 2.1 using information collected in their most recent or on going national Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES). Country profiles on the State of food security and nutrition in each of the targeted Pacific Island countries aims to exploit as much as possible the food data collected in HIES, to derive indicators on food security and nutrition at national level that could inform policies aiming at fighting root causes of Non Communicable Diseases. The target audience is the general public and it is made available for the use of Tongan ministries such as the Statistics office, Health Ministry and policy makers.
