    A meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) was held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 21 to 29 October 2008. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate residues of certain veterinary drugs in food. The present meeting was the seventieth in a series of similar meetings and was the eighteenth meeting of JECFA convened to consider residues of veterinary drugs in food. The tasks before the Committee were to further elaborate principles for evaluating the safety of residues of veterinary drugs in food and for establishing acceptable daily intakes (ADIs) and recommend maximum residue limits (MRLs) for certain drugs when they are administered to food-producing animals in accordance with good practice in the use of veterinary drugs.

    A meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) was held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 5 to 14 November 2013. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate residues of certain veterinary drugs in food. The report of the meeting will be printed in the WHO Technical Report Series. Its presentation will be similar to that of previous reports, namely, general considerations, comments on specific substances and recommendations. The report will include an annex (similar to Annex 1 in this summary) summarizing the conclusions reached by the Committee relating to ADIs, dietary exposure and MRLs.

    A meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) was held in Rome, Italy, from 8 to 17 November 2011. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate residues of certain veterinary drugs in food.The present meeting was the seventy-fifth in a series of similar meetings and was the nineteenth meeting of JECFA convened to consider residues of veterinary drugs in food. The tasks before the Committee were to further elaborate principles for evaluating the safety of residues of vet erinary drugs in food and for establishing acceptable daily intakes (ADIs) and recommend maximum residue limits (MRLs) for certain drugs when they are administered to food-producing animals in accordance with good practice in the use of veterinary drugs. In total, eight veterinary drugs were considered by the Committee.
