Synopsis (short abstract) Women Deliver is a prominent global advocate that supports gender equality and the health and rights of girls and women, in all their transecting identities. Their advocacy pushes investment — political and financial — in the lives of girls and women across the globe. For the first time, the Women Deliver Conference will be held on the African continent. It is an honor for Rwanda to be the next host of this convening as it affirms that the ongoing efforts in-country around gender equality by the Government of Rwanda are gaining the desired traction hosted by the Government of Rwanda and the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion. FAO and UN Women will leverage the presence of multi-stakeholders, including high-level policy makers at Women Deliver Conference to their work around women in the Agrifood systems and value chains focusing on evidence in the Status of Women in Agrifood Systems, produced by FAO.

This side event, anchored in the 2025 High-Level Political Forum theme of “advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind”, will explore evidence-based approaches and innovative partnerships to advance women’s land rights and decent employment for transformative change in agrifood systems. It is organized by FAO with the Federal Republic of Germany, the United Republic of Tanzania and UN Women. Objectives• Highlight the importance of women's land rights and decent employment in empowering women and advancing SDG 5 and other SDGs, including SDG 8 and 17, emphasizing SDG 5.a indicators;• Showcase evidence-based and innovative solutions that address structural inequalities, advance women’s land rights and improve access to decent jobs;• Showcase initiatives that accelerate financing and partnerships for women's empowerment and gender equality in agrifood systems;• Provide a platform for dialogue and partnership among stakeholders to exchange experiences and identify opportunities for collaboration.

This is a side event that will take place during CSW (Commission on the Status of Women) 67 and it will discuss the nexus between digital solutions, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), policies, and gender equality in rural settings and improving rural-urban linkages. Its purpose will be to provide a forum to discuss the ways in which inclusive interventions involving multiple stakeholders can work to tackle the barriers to rural women’s digital inclusion.
