No results found.FSNAU information and analyses facilitated and supported effective evidence-based decision-making in support of humanitarian, recovery and development interventions in response to the worsening humanitarian conditions in Somalia in 2022 and the need for continued and close monitoring of the food security and nutrition situation in the country. To support these efforts, the Government of the United States of America, through the United States Agency for International Development's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, contributed USD 1.6 million to FAO project OSRO/SOM/205/USA, entitled “Support to Food Security and Nutrition Analysis Unit (FSNAU)”. The project was implemented from 1 January 2022 to 30 June 2023. -

No results found.The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland contributed USD 3 750 000 (GBP 3 million) to the FAO project, "FAO’s El Niño preparedness, mitigation and response programme", which was implemented from 21 August 2023 to 31 March 2024. The project aimed to provide interim measures that enabled early preparedness of communities in areas identified as high flood risk to mitigate loss of life, livelihoods and assets in Somalia. The project successfully reached 33 339 households (233 375 people) and 144 technicians through flood mitigation activities, flood defence infrastructure rehabilitation and community preparedness and response. -

The project aimed to increase resilience for populations in Beledweyne and riverine farmers in accessible areas of HirshebelleState.
