No results found.Promoting gender equality is recognized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as central to the Organization’s mandate, including to the Strategic Objective 4 (SO4) – Enable inclusive and efficient agricultural and food systems. FAO has a long history of activities and interventions seeking to promote greater gender equality in Member Countries. This annex responds to a request by the Programme Committee during its 120th session (November 2016) that an annex be ded icated to gender in all Strategic Objective evaluations, using “the FAO gender policy standards as a baseline”.1 The evaluation has thus conducted an analysis of FAO’s global and country-level activities and contributions under Strategic Programme 4 (SP4) directed to achieve the minimum standards and objectives of the FAO Policy on Gender Equality -

The project "Emergency response and support to vulnerable populations in at-risk areas of Burkina Faso" is financed by the Swedish International Development Agency. FAO implemented the project in partnership with the Government of Burkina Faso through the Ministry for Agriculture, Hydro-agricultural Development and Mechanisation. The project seeks to improve vulnerable populations’ access to food and to means of food production. This first phase of the evaluation focused on suggesting improvements to the project over the rest of its implementation period, and more particularly improvements as pertaining to relevance, efficiency and efficacy of the project. The implementation of these recommendations should allow the project and more generally FAO, the FAO Office in Burkina Faso and the Government, to close a project that has achieved its objectives -

Ce rapport présente les résultats de l’évaluation finale du projet «Élimination des polluants organiques persistants et pesticides obsolètes et renforcement de la gestion du cycle de vie des pesticides au Bénin» (projet GCP/BEN/056/GFF), exécuté par la FAO et le Gouvernement du Bénin de mars 2015 à septembre 2021. Le projet est cohérent pas rapport aux priorités du pays et des partenaires. Le projet a su mobiliser l’approche champs-écoles des producteurs (CEP), la gestion intégrée de la production et des déprédateurs (GIPD) et des partenariats pertinents. Des lacunes au niveau du processus de gestion du cycle de vie des pesticides ont néanmoins été identifiées et des mesures correctives proposées. Le cadre réglementaire a été renforcé ainsi que les capacités nationales en décontamination des sites polluées, sécurisation des pesticides obsolètes et polluants organiques persistants (POP), analyse des échantillons de sol pollués, recyclage et gestion des emballages vides de pesticides, test et d’adoption de techniques et systèmes alternatifs basés sur la GIPD, etc.
