Les étapes du flux de travail d’une banque de semences sont présentées de manière séquentielle et des conseils sont proposés pour les étapes complexes et les décisions nécessaires au fonctionnement d’une banque de semences. Les tableaux récapitulatifs qui accompagnent les différentes étapes soulignent que ce guide pratique est destiné à servir de manuel pour les opérations de routine des banques de gènes en vue de la conservation des semences orthodoxes. Bien que ce guide pratique soit particulièrement utile aux techniciens des banques de gènes de semences pour leurs activités quotidiennes, il peut également servir de base à l’élaboration de procédures opérationnelles normalisées et de systèmes de gestion de la qualité. Les gestionnaires de banques de gènes le trouveront également utile pour mener des exercices de formation.
