dc.description.abstract | VCA Tool 3.00 is a software for Value Chain Analysis that is particularly useful for building and comparing scenarios for agricultural and rural development policy impact analysis. In particular, it facilitates the systematic storage of data for Cost-Benefit and Value Added analysis and allows you to calculate: a) flows of physical quantities of outputs and inputs; b) flows of aggregated costs, benefits, value added and net benefits; c) flows of incremental costs, benefits, net benefits and valu e added under different scenarios; and, d) financial and economic indicators such as profitability indexes, indicators of protection such as the Effective Protection Coefficient (EPC) or indicators of competitiveness such as the Domestic Resource Cost (DRC) ratios and Sensitivity tests. Instructions are provided on how to carry out calculations for the different components of a value chain analysis, notably: activities and various plans of agents (i.e. at different levels of aggregation). In add ition, the software can compare different policy measures and alternative chain scenarios. | |
