dc.description.abstract This document presents the final report of the seventy-fourth session of the Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) held in New Delhi, India from 22 to 24 May 2014. The Committee's main function is to direct the conduct of business and affairs of the Commission between its biennial sessions and provide advice to the Secretariat. The Executive Committee made a number of recommendations relating to three thematic areas covered under the APFIC workplan: a) to improve the sustainability and efficiency of the aquaculture sector, b) to increase the visibility of inland fisheries based on their importance as a major contributor to food security in the region and c) to provide support to member countries in marine fisheries. The recommendations are contained in the report.
