No results found.The Third Session of the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 2 to 4 June 2014. The Session was attended by representatives of four Members: Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkey. The session was also attended by the following invited states: Georgia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. The Commission adopted the scientific and technical advice and recommendations on the following issues which were submitted to the Commission for its consideration by the Technical and Advisory Committee (TAC): i) inland fisheries stock assessment; (ii) regional strategic principles for climate change; and (iii) fish breeding and broodstock management. The technical advice and recommendations were found valuable in respect of the priority and needs of the Central Asian and Caucasus region. The Commission also underlined the importance of the gradual implementation of the technical and scientific advice of TAC in CACF ish competence area. The Commission approved the framework for a regional strategy and associated principles for aquatic animal health management in CACFish area. The Commission discussed its five-year Regional Work Programme (2011–2015) and endorsed 2014 work programme of the TAC. The CACFish Secretariat briefed the key works and activities that were conducted during the intersessional period. The Commission adopted its 2014 autonomous budget as USD180 000. In respect of the working module of the TAC, the Commission agreed on (i) re-naming of the existing type of regular gathering type of TAC, called “Session” to “Meeting” and (ii) organization of the third Meeting of TAC in 2015; (iii) organization of TAC Meetings minimum every two years (biennial) after the third Meeting (2015); and (iv) if deemed necessary by any member and adopted by the Commission, organization of one or more intermediate meetings. The Commission agreed to continue on providing financial support for attendance o f both the Members States and Invited States at the events of Commission and its subsidiary bodies. In this regard, Commission decided to financially support the participation of two representatives and one representative from Members and Invited States, respectively. -

No results found.Третье совещание Технического консультативного комитета (ТКК) Региональной комиссии по рыбному хозяйству и аквакультуре в Центральной Азии и на Кавказе (CACFish) состоялось в Бишкеке (Кыргызская Республика) с 16 по 18 февраля 2015 года. В работе приняли участие пять стран-членов: Азербайджан, Армения, Кыргызстан, Таджикистан и Турция. На совещании также присутствовали страны, не являющиеся членами CACFish, а именно: Грузия, Казахстан и Узбекистан. Комитет обсудил и разработал научные рекомендаци и на рассмотрение Комиссии, а именно: (i) Мониторинг, контроль и наблюдение (МКН) в рыбном хозяйстве, (ii) управление рыбьими инкубаторами во внутренних водах, (iii) Добровольные руководящие принципы обеспечения устойчивого маломасштабного рыболовства в контексте продовольственной безопасности и искоренения бедности. ТКК проанализировал прогресс, достигнутый в выполнении 5-летней рабочей программы (2011- 2015 гг.) Комитет одобрил подготовленную Секретариатом вторую 5-летнюю рабочую программу (20 16-2020 гг.) с некоторыми изменениями. ТКК также одобрил свою программу работы на межсессионный период 2015-2017 годов. The Third Meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFish) was organized in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from 16 to 18 February 2015. The meeting was attended by five Member States: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkey. Also attending were the following non-CACFish Member States: Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The TAC discussed and generated scientific recommendations on the following issue s for consideration by CACFish: (i) fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS); (ii) inland fish hatchery management; and (iii) Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small- Scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication. The TAC revised the progress with the five-year Work Programme of CACFish (2011–2015). The TAC approved with some modifications the second-term five-year Work Programme (2016–2020) prepared by the CACFish Secretariat. The TAC further ad opted its programme of work for the intersessional period 2015–2017. -

No results found.At the kind invitation of the State Agency of Fisheries of Ukraine, the first session of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFish) was held in Kiev, Ukraine, on 20–22 November 2012. The Session was attended by representatives of four Members: Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkey. Also participation in the session were representatives from six non-CACFish Members – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmen istan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan – as well as from FAO. The TAC produced scientific advice on the following issues for consideration of CACFish: (i) environmental impact assessment in aquaculture; (ii) regional principles for responsible aquaculture in Central Asia; (iii) responsible introductions and transfers of fish in Central Asia and the Caucasus; and (iv) improvement of collection, analysis and dissemination of fisheries data and information. The TAC identified the prioritized areas of the five-year Regional Work Programme of the Commission (2011–15) and associated activities for implementation in 2013. Establishment of sub-bodies under the TAC was determined early on. In addition, the TAC discussed and identified general key priority areas for its work. These included, among others, technical fishing regulations, intensive aquaculture techniques and methodologies, fish health management, fish breeding and broodstock management, trade-related management measures and environmental security.
