The survey provides statistics on pulp and paper production capacity along with short-term production capacity forecasts. It also presents statistics on pulp and paper production and information about the utilization of recovered paper. No results found.This document is the final version of the report of the eighth session of the Western Central Atlantic Fishery Commission (WECAFC) held in Caracas, Venezuela, from 20 to 24 November 1995. Major topics discussed during the Session were: the current situation of fisheries in the region and prevailing trends, the possible role of WECAFC in the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries and other relevant international instruments,including the possible need for restructuring to strengthen the Commission's role in promoting regional cooperation to ensure effective conservation, management and development of fisheries in the region. The Session analyzed and adopted the report of the Committee for the Management and Development of Fisheries in the Lesser Antilles. The Commission also reviewed the main activities carried out as the result of the decisions and recommendations made for the intersessional period and agreed on the programme for the forthcoming biennium ta lcing into account the restructuring and decentralization process in FAO as well as the financial situation of the Organization. A list of the main recommendations of the Session is included as Appendix D. -

No results found.The Sixteenth Session of the Western Central Atlantic Fishery Commission was held in Guadeloupe, France, from 20 to 24 June 2016. The session was attended by 28 members of the Commission. Observers from four Regional Fishery Bodies (RFBs) and four intergovernmental organizations also participated. The Commission adopted five regional fisheries management recommendations respectively on: 1) the regional plan for the management and conservation of Queen conch, 2) spiny lobster management and cons ervation, 3) the sub-regional fisheries management plan for flyingfish, 4) the management of deep sea fisheries in the high seas, and 5) the management of shrimp and groundfish resources. The Commission also adopted two resolutions on: 1) sea cucumber fisheries management and aquaculture, and 2) Marine Protected Areas as fisheries management tool in the Caribbean.
