No results found.The first meeting of the CFMC/OSPESCA/WECAFC/CRFM Working Group on Queen Conch was held in Panama City, Panama from 23 to 25 October 2012. The Meeting issued a “Declaration of Panama City” with highly valuable advice to the 16th Conference of Parties of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of wild flora and fauna (CITES) as well as recommendations to the regional fishery bodies and countries in the Western Central Atlantic. The Working Group Meeting was attended by 57 fish eries sector and CITES authority delegates from 23 countries and territories. The Working Group participants expressed their commitment to individually and collectively take measures and actions to further improve management and conservation of the Queen Conch resource in the Wider Caribbean Region. -

No results found.This is the final report of the first meeting of the acoustic Working Group for northwest Africa (AWG) organized in Agadir, Morocco from 11 to 12 June 2019. The AWG brings together scientists involved in pelagic acoustic surveys from northwest African countries and aims to coordinate acoustic studies in the region, discuss common hydroacoustic issues, coordinate studies and research and share expertise with the ultimate aim of transferring knowledge and skills to new generations of acousticians. The EAF-Nansen Programme supported the implementation of the AWG and contributed to the development of the report. The report presents the content and outcome of this first AWG, including recommendations for acoustic methods to be used, studies to be conducted and operations of the group in the future. Ce document est le rapport final de la Première réunion du Groupe de travail acoustique en Afrique du Nord-Ouest (GTA) organisée à Agadir, au Maroc, du 11 au 12 juin 2019. Le GTA rassemble des scientifiques qui ont participé aux campagnes acoustiques sur les pélagiques des pays d'Afrique du Nord-Ouest et vise à coordonner les campagnes acoustiques dans la région, à discuter des problématiques communes en matière d’hydroacoustiques, à coordonner les études et la recherche et à partager l'expertise dans le but ultime de transférer les connaissances et les compétences aux nouvelles générations d'acousticiens. Le Programme EAF-Nansen a soutenu la mise en oeuvre du GTA et a contribué à l'élaboration du rapport. Ce dernier présente les thématiques et les résultats de ce premier GTA, notamment les recommandations formulées sur les méthodes acoustiques à utiliser, les études à mener et les futures activités du groupe.
