Several initiatives to climate change adaptations in agriculture have been started. Studies regarding crop protection from adverse weather conditions have been conducted which aims to increase the chances of survival and growth of crops under extreme heat and rain. One of these studies investigated the use of different good practice options in rice farming for lowland areas (dela Torre et. Al. unpublished). The study found out that the application of stress-tolerant varieties and integration of animals in farming help increase yield and decrease losses due to heavy rains and saline environments.
