No results found.Under its CFS RAI Umbrella Programme, FAO is strengthening the capacities of Liberian state and non-state actors to enhance the enabling environment for responsible investment in agriculture and food systems. This includes the present baseline study, drafted by ZOA with support from FAO; the delivery of blended learning programmes for policymakers; capacity development activities for civil society; and multi-stakeholder policy dialogue which is expected to result in concrete policy recommendations. These activities are carried out under the inter-regional project “Enhancing the enabling environment for responsible investment in agriculture and food systems” (GCP/INT/920/GER), which is funded by Germany. The project operates at global, regional, and country levels (Lao PDR, Liberia, and Sierra Leone). -

Responsible investment in agriculture and food systems
2019This course illustrates the importance of responsible investment in agriculture and food systems for sustainable development, as well as the scope and content of the CFS Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI). It also analyses the features of an institutional, policy, legal and regulatory environment that fosters responsible investment, and it identifies the main actors who play a role in the process of creating such an enabling environment. The course primarily targets change agents who play a key role in creating an enabling environment for responsible investment, including policy makers and parliamentarians, government technical staff, as well as members of small-scale producer organizations and civil society organizations. -

Increasing responsible investments in agriculture and food systems is vital to ensure adequate food and nutrition, reduce poverty, and achieve sustainable development. This document contains the keys to the approach that these investments are responsible, through a human rights approach based on the principles of human dignity, non-discrimination, equity and justice, gender equality, a comprehensive and sustainable approach, consultation and participation, transparency, accountability, and constant improvement. Such as: * The Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CSA-IAR), their contextualization, and an approach to them. * The keys for the parliaments to facilitate responsible investment. * And the necessary parliamentary actions to promote responsible investment in agriculture and food systems.
