Recognizing the opportunities, but also the potential risks, offered by ICT for accelerating agricultural and rural development, in January 2021 FAO launched the Digital Villages Initiative (DVI) with the ambitious goal to convert at least 1000 villages around the world into Digital Villages. With DVI, FAO is supporting a digital rural transformation process to address agrifood systems’ challenges and improve the livelihoods and resilience of rural communities. The flyer details the activities that are ongoing as part of the digital Villages initiative in REU. Digital Villages enhance rural resilience and food security by providing farmers with digital tools for accessing inputs, market information, and alternative sales channels online. They deliver real-time data on prices, weather, and pests, enabling informed decisions on crop management and purchasing. These initiatives also simplify obtaining financial aid and insurance, with streamlined online applications and digital fund reception. This contributes to the development of the four betters and the achievement of SDG goals through localization facilitated through digitalization. The projects detailed in the flyer can be used for general information for other interested countries and regions. -

В данной публикации в сжатой форме описываются основные достижения и сотрудничество Продовольственной и сельскохозяйственной организации Объединенных Наций (ФАО) в регионе Европы и Центральной Азии, несмотря на такие постоянные проблемы, как война на Украине, изменение климата и политическая нестабильность. В первом разделе рассматривается работа по программам через призму четырёх направлений улучшений. Работа ФАО в рамках её Региональной приоритетной программы «Расширение прав и возможностей мелких землевладельцев, семейных фермерских хозяйств и молодёжи посредством инклюзивной трансформации сельских районов, цифровизации и инноваций», такая как Техническая платформа по зелёному сельскому хозяйству, цифровое сельское хозяйство и улучшение доступа к ресурсам, описывается в разделе, посвящённом улучшению производства. Также в разделе, посвящённом улучшению производства, описывается работа ФАО над инициативой «Единое здоровье» и другими инициативами, связанными с «Региональной приоритетной программой: преобразование продовольственных систем и содействие доступу к рынкам и интеграции». Раздел, посвящённый улучшению питания, включает в себя информацию о работе по обеспечению безопасности пищевых продуктов, достижениях Целевой коалиции по устойчивым продовольственным системам, Кодексу, здоровью растений, рынкам и торговле. Раздел, посвящённый улучшению окружающей среды, фокусируется на смягчении последствий изменения климата и адаптации агропродовольственных систем для повышения их устойчивости и жизнестойкости. Гендерное равенство, трансформация сельских районов и устойчивые агропродовольственные системы описываются в разделе, посвящённом улучшению качества жизни.Во втором разделе доклада представлен краткий обзор важных завершенных и текущих проектов в Азербайджане, Албании, Армении, Боснии и Герцеговине, Грузии, Казахстане, Кыргызстане, Республике Молдова, Северной Македонии, Сербии, Таджикистане, Туркменистане, Турции, Украине и Черногории. В нем рассматриваются: программа «Одна страна – один приоритетный продукт»; инициативы «Цифровые деревни» и «умные деревни»; женщины, выращивающие фасоль – проект, посвященный женщинам, способствующим устойчивости; национальный проект по идентификации и отслеживанию животных, который получил распространение в регионе; борьба с саранчой; консолидация земель; разработка цифровой системы земельного кадастра; женские кооперативы и расширение прав и возможностей женщин; фермерские полевые школы; восстановление лесов и сохранение биоразнообразия; развитие цепочки создания стоимости недревесных лесных продуктов и многое другое.

No results found.There is increasing attention to the importance of biodiversity for food security and nutrition, especially above-ground biodiversity such as plants and animals. However, less attention is being paid to the biodiversity beneath our feet, soil biodiversity, which drives many processes that produce food or purify soil and water. This report is the result of an inclusive process involving more than 300 scientists from around the world under the auspices of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership and its Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the European Commission. It presents concisely the state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, the threats to it, and the solutions that soil biodiversity can provide to problems in different fields. It also represents a valuable contribution to raising awareness of the importance of soil biodiversity and highlighting its role in finding solutions to today's global threats.
