    The manual begins with a presentation of key physical principles used in fisheries acoustics and continues with a general description of the necessary equipment and its functions. An explanation is given of the acoustic equations followed by the acoustic properties of fish when occurring singly or in schools. Acoustic survey concepts are discussed prior to a description of calibration methods used to determine the electronic and acoustic parameters of the equipment. Use of the equipment in a sys tematic manner at sea leads on to the sources of error that can arise and explains how these may be removed or minimised. Finally methods are given for the collection and presentation of data in various forms, together with different ways in which to improve results by the use of statistics.

    Technologies and practices for small agricultural producers (TECA) is an FAO online platform for the exchange and sharing of agricultural technologies and practices for smallholder farmers and producers. The platform facilitates the transformation process in rural areas by making relevant and innovative technologies available to farmers in the field. In doing so, TECA further enhances the access to knowledge of smallholder producers in rural areas increasing their capacity to innovate and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). On the occasion of the Salon International De L' Agriculture et des Ressources Animales D' Abidjan". SARA 2019- Smart Agriculture & Technological Innovations. Taking place in Abidjan from 22 November to 1 December 2019, together with the FAO Country Office, TECA will promote a wide range of successful innovations of farmers' agricultural technologies and practices that address smallholder farmers' challenges. It aims at illustrating how sharing knowledge may unlock innovation throughout the farming process. The TECA poster will raise awareness of the FAO TECA Platform, aiming at facilitating access and sharing of its practices and technologies and fill a gap in assisting partners in reaching out to smallholder farmers.
