    The Government of Japan contributed USD 840 000 to strengthen the capacities of 6 279 vulnerable farming households in drought-affected regions in the Republic of Moldova to increase their agricultural production and enhance food and nutrition security.

    The Government of Japan contributed USD 2 million to the FAO project, "Mitigating the impact of drought for the most vulnerable pastoral and agropastoral communities in Djibouti, Kenya and Uganda", which was implemented from 22 March 2023 to 21 March 2024. The project aimed to provide access to food and other basic goods and services, while protecting and restoring productive livelihoods to build back self-reliance in drought-affected communities. The project successfully reached 11 520 households (73 968 people) with unconditional cash transfers, emergency livestock feed, training and animal health services.

    The Government of the Japan contributed USD 975 000 to the FAO project, "Socioeconomic stabilization and resilience building for vulnerable Bedouin households in the West Bank and Gaza Strip". The overall objective of the project was to protect the livelihoods and improve the food security of vulnerable livestock-keeping households. A total of 1 946 livestock-keeping households, of whom 419 were headed by women, approximately 10 000 people, were able to enhance their resilience to environmental shocks, as well as their capacities to establish sustainable income-generating activities through the provision of drought-resistant fodder seed, salt blocks and other farm tools, olive cake briquettes, mobile water tanks for migrating animals, poultry and dairy production packages and trainings.
