dc.description.abstract The second semester of 2023 reflected stronger collaboration between Indonesia and Timor-Leste, with FAO strong support to ensure favorable policies, facilitate transfer of knowledge & conduct science based field activities in close collaboration with national and subnational key stakeholders. Both countries' commitment were also translated into clear initiatives to address transboundary issues, IUU Fishing, Marine Protected Areas and establishment of marine peace park in the border areas. These initiatives were conducted under the GEF/FAO-supported project “Enabling transboundary cooperation for sustainable management of the Indonesian Seas" or the ISLME project.
