No results found.The African Development Bank (AfDB) is funding the South Sudanese segment of the Building Resilience for Food and Nutrition Security in the Horn of Africa (BREFONS) initiative. This project is strategically designed to fortify the subsistence of the Horn of Africa's populace, concentrating on augmenting food and nutrition security, amplifying resilience, and cultivating peace and stability. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) of the Republic of South Sudan, is spearheading the implementation. The project encompasses the construction of pivotal infrastructure within the Aweil Rice Scheme and the expansive Kapoeta region, with a critical focus on the execution of environmental and social undertakings. These endeavors are orchestrated to achieve several objectives: to verify compliance with environmental and social safety stipulations contractually; to evaluate the environmental and social ramifications of the infrastructural developments; to gauge the progression in enacting the grievance redress mechanism of the project; and ultimately, to enhance expertise in gender integration within the BREFONS framework.
