No results found. The ICRAF PRESA project has been operating in Sasumua watershed, northwest of Nairobi since September 2008. Characterised by steep slopes and heavy populations of smallholder farmers, upstream practices have caused sedimentation and pollution into the Sasumua reservoir, supplied by the catchment supplies and operated by the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC). The potential to use PES to address land degradation issues has been explored by ICRAF and JKUAT (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology) through its program, Pro-poor Rewards for Environmental Services in Africa (PRESA).
