dc.description.abstract The FAO Conceptual Framework for integrated land and water resources management recommends an integrated approach to land, soil and water resources management. The Programme Committee discussed this Conceptual Framework at its 137th Session, and the FAO Council further endorsed the integrated approach at its 174th Session. The Conceptual Framework supports the 2030 Agenda by encouraging the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life for all, leaving no one behind. It provides a roadmap including programmatic actions which contribute to the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-31 and the FAO strategies on climate change, science and innovation, and biodiversity. In addition, the Conceptual Framework contributes to the implementation of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030, the UN Decade on Nutrition, the UN Decade of Family Farming and the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”.
