dc.description.abstract A report of the twenty-fifth World Food Day celebration held at the FAO regional office in Bangkok in commemoration of the Organization's founding in 1945. This year’s theme highlights the contribution of different cultures to world agriculture and argues that sincere intercultural dialogue is a precondition for progress against hunger and environmental degradation. Highlights of the day include a keynote speech on the theme of the celebration by Hon. Misa Telefoni Retzlaff, Deputy Prime Ministe r and Minister of Finance, Samoa and the presentation of four awards to outstanding farmers from India, Mongolia, Thailand and Vanuatu.
